Jason Reitman and Charlize Theron on Tully

Jason Reitman’s Tully reunites him with collaborators Charlize Theron and Diablo Cody to dig into what happens during parenthood in the refreshingly raw and bittersweet, hilarious film.

Charlize Theron stars as Marlo, a mother of three children including a newborn, whose brother Craig (Mark Duplass) gifts a night nanny to. Hoping that it will alleviate the stress in her life and strain on her relationship with her husband Drew (Ron Livingston), she’s encouraged to welcome in a young lady who shows up on her doorstep named Tully (Mackenzie Davis) to assist in night parenting duties. Hesitant to accept the help, Marlo eventually gives in and finds herself forming a unique bond with the young woman in a fascinating and relatable way.

ComingSoon.net recently sat down with director Jason Reitman and star/producer Charlize Theron to discuss their follow-up to Young Adult with screenwriter Diablo Cody (Jennifer’s Body). The talked about how they found themselves gravitating to this story and how it spoke to experiences they related to during this chapter in their lives. Watch what they had to say about working on the film in the interview below!

Tully will open in theaters on May 4. The film is a Focus Features presentation of a Bron Studios, Denver + Delilah, Right of Way and West Egg production, in association with Creative Wealth Media.
