CS rings in the holiday season with the Bad Santa 2 cast
Thirteen years after the original Bad Santa hit theaters and immediately emerged as a new holiday classic, Broad Green Pictures and Miramax are prepping to, this Wednesday, bring Billy Bob Thornton’s Willie Soke back to the big screen! To celebrate the long-awaited event, CS sat down with the Bad Santa 2 cast. In the player below, you can check out exclusive interviews with Thornton as well as returning stars Tony Cox and Brett Kelly. Representing the new Bad Santa 2 cast, meanwhile, are Kathy Bates and Christina Hendricks and we’ve even got some insight from director Mark Waters, who describes a few of the challenges in finally making Bad Santa 2 a reality.
Fueled by cheap whiskey, greed and hatred, Willie teams up once again with his angry little sidekick, Marcus, to knock off a Chicago charity on Christmas Eve. Along for the ride is ‘the kid’ – chubby and cheery Thurman Merman, a 250-pound ray of sunshine who brings out Willie’s sliver of humanity.
Mommy issues arise when the pair are joined by Willie’s horror story of a mother, Sunny Soke. A super butch super bitch, Sunny raises the bar for the gang’s ambitions, while somehow lowering the standards of criminal behavior. Willie is further burdened by lusting after the curvaceous and prim Diane, the charity director with a heart of gold and libido of steel.
Directed by Mark Waters (Freaky Friday, Mean Girls), the Bad Santa 2 movie will hit the big screen this Wednesday, November 23.
