Deadpool director Tim Miller talks about the character and IMAX presentation

Next week sees the long-awaited release of the Deadpool movie, and though you might think you’ve been waiting a long time for that moment to happen, director Tim Miller has been attached to the project since 2009 and is eager to see the character finally come to life. In a new featurette, Tim Miller talks about the upcoming movie, why he likes the character and the film’s IMAX presentation. Check it out in the player below!

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Ryan Reynolds stars as the title character alongside T.J. Miller as Weasel, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Morena Baccarin as Copycat and Ed Skrein as Ajax. The film will also feature the mutant Colossus, voiced by Serbian actor Stefan Kapicic. Reynolds has expressed a desire that Hugh Jackman might cameo as Wolverine, though it remains unconfirmed as to whether or not he will actually appear.

Written by Zombieland scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, Deadpool will debut in theaters on February 12. t

Last year we had the opportunity to chat with Reynolds on the Vancouver set of the film. If you haven’t already had a chance, check out our Deadpool set visit report.
