Watch a New ‘Minions’ Full-Length Trailer

Universal decided to go with a football-themed trailer for their upcoming Despicable Me spin-off movie, Minions, but only a few days later they deliver a new full-length trailer, which will likely be attached to The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water this weekend.

I know the appreciation for the little yellow pill characters is divided out there with half the audience hating them and the other half loving them. Personally, I enjoyed their gibberish contributions to the Despicable Me films, but at the same time I’m not sure they can carry an entire film with their nonsense.

Set during the ’60s, the story follows a trio of Minions to a convention for super villains (apparently they were, at one time, celebrated?) and they begin working for Scarlet Overkill (voiced by Sandra Bullock) but eventually need to save the world… or something like that. I didn’t look too deep into it.

It looks like a movie that will be great for kids and amuse adults that are half paying attention and catch a few one-liners here and there, but don’t subject themselves to the whole thing. The movie hits theaters on July 15, here’s the new trailer.
