First Trailer for Tarantino’s ‘Hateful Eight’ Will Premiere Before Filming Begins

Quentin Tarantino‘s The Hateful Eight may go down in history as having one of the oddest roads from script to screen. First the script leaks online, then Tarantino scraps the project and attempts to sue Gawker for linking to the script. Shortly after that he drops the suit, holds a live-reading of the script and then confirms he’s actually going to make the movie with filming to begin in early 2015.

Almost as soon as that announcement was made Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Yes. A trailer. Before the movie has even begun filming… or so I am assuming.

I can only imagine this is going to be an announcement trailer of some sort, perhaps previewing all of Tarantino’s work to this point, offering sweeping vistas as he tackles his second Western in a row. Or… perhaps he got together with some of the cast and actually shot a trailer. We’ll find out on August 22 as it’s a trailer that’s not expected to be released online… at least not officially.
