Tonight, across the world, fans are getting a first look at 17 minutes from Guardians of the Galaxy, ahead of its upcoming August 1 release and now a new extended preview of the film, featuring all new footage, has been released online and includes your first look at Michael Rooker as Yondu as seen above.
When it comes to this new preview, I only watched the final portion as Rocket the Raccoon gets all chatty, but wow have they altered Bradley Cooper‘s voice. I’m not sure I’d guess it was him if I didn’t know in advance. Also, the comedy in this thing I’m just not feeling it from the previews, hopefully it’s just a matter of seeing the whole thing in context because that final scene isn’t the least bit humorous. Either way, I’m still looking forward to it, though expectations have been damn near stomped on in the last month or so.
Check out the new preview below and if you haven’t done so yet, I have right here, check ’em out.

Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe beyond Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and the rest of The Avengers as it journeys into the cosmos, where adventurer Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan (Lee Pace), a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe.
To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits — Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper), a gun-toting raccoon, Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel), a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer (David Bautista). But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand — with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.
