First Trailer for ‘Before I Go to Sleep’ Starring Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth

I read S.J. Watson‘s thriller on which the upcoming movie, Before I Go To Sleep, is based and as much as I enjoyed the book, I have my doubts about a filmed adaptation being able to pull it off. The story is something of a Memento-esque plotline in which Nicole Kidman plays a woman who wakes up every day, remembering nothing from the previous day as a result of a traumatic accident in her past. Things begin to come clear as she begins writing in a daily diary, but it soon gets to the point she isn’t sure she can even trust her own words.

The film is directed by Rowan Joffe and co-stars Colin Firth and Mark Strong with new indie distributor Clarius Entertainment releasing the film on September 12.

Today the first trailer has dropped and it appears instead of writing in a diary, she’ll be keeping a video diary in the film, all of which seems like it will be far more tedious on the big screen than it was in the book. Maybe I’m being too hard on it, give it a look below and let me know what you think.
