Typically I’m the one being cynical when it comes to superhero movies, but as of late it seems fans and commenters are piling on The Amazing Spider-Man 2 more than me. Not necessarily because of the film, but because of Sony’s marketing of the villain-laden sequel. Most recently eyebrows were raised with the reveal of Dane DeHaan as the Green Goblin, a reveal it seems many believed they would have preferred to see on the big screen rather than online, but you know what Sony knows… they know no matter how much they show you, you’re still going to go see it in theaters come May 2.
