New Trailer and Poster for Doppelganger Thriller ‘Enemy’ Starring Jake Gyllenhaal

A24 will bring Denis Villeneuve‘s thriller Enemy starring Jake Gyllenhaal to theaters on March 14 and they’ve just released a brand new theatrical trailer and a poster for the film, which is based on José Saramago’s novel “The Double”, exploring the troubled psyche of a man (Gyllenhaal) who is torn between his mistress and his wife.

I saw the film in Toronto last year, here’s a snippet from my review:

Enemy is a film you won’t want to watch on your own. You’ll want to absorb as much as you can and take what you’ve learned and order the chaos with others. When it came down to trying to figure out if I liked it or not I had to ask myself if I liked films such as Mulholland Dr. or Blue Velvet the first time I saw them. The answer is clear, if a director can manage to manipulate our interpretation of a film while also engaging us with a confounding piece of cinema he/she most certainly has created something I’ve enjoyed.

I expect this is a movie a small subsection of the cinema-going audience is going to love and want to discuss and theories revolving around what’s really going on should be interesting to read. Check out the trailer and poster below and read my full review right here.
