First Trailer for Wes Anderson’s ‘Grand Budapest Hotel’

Fox Searchlight has premiered the first full trailer for Wes Anderson‘s The Grand Budapest Hotel, which was just dated for a March 7, 2014 release. I can only assume that means we can expect it to premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival next year in early February, that is if Sundance doesn’t get it first.

[amz asin=”081099741X” size=”small”]The synopsis tells us the story centers on a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars and his friendship with a young employee who becomes his trusted protégé. The story involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting, the battle for an enormous family fortune and the slow and then sudden upheavals that transformed Europe during the first half of the 20th century.

Most enticing here, however, is the cast, which goes as follows Ralph Fiennes, Edward Norton, Owen Wilson, Tilda Swinton, Jude Law, Bill Murray, Adrien Brody, Harvey Keitel, Jason Schwartzmann, Willem Dafoe, Jeff Goldblum, Saoirse Ronan, Tom Wilkinson, Mathieu Amalric, F. Murray Abraham and Bob Balaban. Oh, yes, and of course Tony Revolori as said “legendary concierge”.

Check out the trailer below and let me know what you think. Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom was close to an Oscar nomination for Best Picture, you see any chance this one actually makes it? Especially given the early year release date?
