Sony has premiered a new trailer for David O. Russell‘s American Hustle, which may be the most anticipated, unseen movie left this year.
Starring Christian Bale (The Dark Knight Rises), Bradley Cooper (Silver Linings Playbook), Amy Adams (Man of Steel), Jennifer Lawrence (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) and Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker), the film is a fictional account of the true story of a notorious financial con artist (Bale) and his mistress/partner in crime (Adams), following their story as they are forced to work with an out of control federal agent (Cooper) to turn the tables on other con artists, mobsters, and politicians. At the epicenter of the entire tale, is the passionate and volatile leader of the New Jersey state assembly (Renner) who is also the local hero and mayor of impoverished Camden.
The film is set for a limited December 13 release and will expand on Christmas Day and test screenings are currently underway and the first anonymous review arrived at AICN recently and Jeff Wells at Hollywood Elsewhere has heard his own rumblings. I personally can’t wait to see it for myself.
