I don’t know why a film like Pixar’s Monsters University would need more than a teaser trailer and one theatrical trailer, but it seems like every day there has been new video coming out for the sequel. Perhaps Disney and/or Pixar are a little worried about the film’s prospects after the 3D re-release of Monsters, Inc. didn’t exactly light the box office on fire, bringing in only $34 million compared to the $94.2 million tallied by The Lion King a year earlier.
Then again, that’s what marketers do, they market and continue to bombard audiences into submission. So, with that said, here is one, presumably “final” trailer for Monsters University (before all the TV spots start being released), which will take on World War Z on June 21.
The film sees the return of Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) and James P. Sullivan (John Goodman) in a prequel story detailing their first introduction in college and how they overcame their differences and became the best of friends.
