While Tom Cruise has primarily made headlines in the last few days as a result of his divorce with Katie Holmes, today an international trailer out of Russia for his upcoming film Jack Reacher hopes to “steer” the conversation elsewhere.
Originally titled One Shot, based on the Lee Child novel of the same name, the film features Cruise as the titular character, a former military policeman-turned-drifter, who’s on the trail of a lone sniper who murders five victims before being captured. Only problem is the investigation doesn’t end there.
The story was adapted by and directed by Christopher McQuarrie (Oscar-winning screenwriter of The Usual Suspects) and co-starring Rosamund Pike, Richard Jenkins, David Oyelowo, Robert Duvall, Werner Herzog as the film’s villain and Jai Courtney who will be seen here before he takes up the role playing Bruce Willis’ son in 2013’s A Good Day To Die Hard.
Jack Reacher is set to hit theaters on December 21, check out this first trailer directly below.
