Yesterday none of you seemed particularly impressed by the ten seconds of footage that made up the Dredd. In all fairness, we can’t really judge a film from ten seconds of quick cuts, slow motion and gun fire. So, how about judging two minutes and 20 seconds and let me know what you think based on this first full trailer for the film.
Set to hit theaters on September 21, Dredd is a new adaptation centered on the character Judge Joe Dredd created by writer John Wagner and artist Carlos Ezquerra from the British science fiction anthology “2000 AD” and centers on Dredd (Karl Urban), an American law enforcement officer in a violent city of the future where uniformed Judges combine the powers of police, judge, jury and executioner. Dredd and his fellow Judges are empowered to arrest, sentence and even execute criminals on the spot.
The film is directed by Pete Travis (Vantage Point) and co-stars Olivia Thirlby, Lena Headey and Domhnall Gleeson. Watch the trailer directly below.
