There’s a moment in this new trailer for Resident Evil: Retribution where it says “Their Final Battle Begins”, is that to imply this is the final Resident Evil film? Considering the last one raked in almost $300 million worldwide I have a hard time believing they’d be so willing to just shut it all down especially considering it looks like Milla Jovovich and Paul W.S. Anderson have nothing better to do but continue making these things.
Set to hit theaters on September 14 this new installment brings Alice (Jovovich) back with some familiar faces from the past as the deadly T-virus from the first film continues to eat away at the global population, turning them into flesh eating Undead. Stuff happens, bullets are fired, people are eaten and, if I had to wager a guess, Alice’s fate at the end of this one will be ambiguous, opening up the opportunity to continue the franchise with or without her, because there is no chance this is the last one.
