Late last night the trailer for Scott Derrickson‘s new horror flick Sinister, which played at the SXSW Film Festival earlier this year to (from what I can tell) largely positive reviews.
The film stars Ethan Hawke as a true crime novelist who discovers a box of mysterious, disturbing home movies that plunge his family into a nightmarish experience of supernatural horror. His investigation leads him to an entity that may be placing his own family in harm’s way. I believe that “entity” is what can be seen in the screen capture above.
The film is due in theaters on October 5 and co-stars Vincent D’Onofrio, Juliet Rylance, Fred Dalton Thompson, James Ransone, Clare Foley and Michael Hall D’Addario.
