Playing in front of Snow White and the Huntsman this weekend and arriving early online right now is the new trailer for The Bourne Legacy, the fourth film in the Bourne franchise and the first not to feature Matt Damon in the lead role.
While the teaser trailer only gave hints as to what this new film would be about as Jeremy Renner steps into the lead role as Aaron Cross, a new hero whose life-or-death stakes have been triggered by the events of the first three films, this trailer definitely expands on where writer/director Tony Gilroy is planning on taking the story.
Based on one particular image I saw while skimming the trailer, it certainly looks like Jason Bourne hasn’t been forgotten and it looks like Renner will be doing some of the same rooftop acrobatics as Cross that Damon did as Bourne.
Co-starring Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Albert Finney, Joan Allen, Scott Glenn, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac, The Bourne Legacy is set to hit theaters on August 3.
