‘The Words’ Trailer Starring Bradley Cooper and Zoe Saldana

CBS Films has debuted the new trailer for The Words centering on Bradley Cooper who plays a writer who, at the peak of his literary success, discovers the price he must pay for stealing another man’s work. He’s joined in the cast by a slew of names including Zoe Saldana, Jeremy Irons, Dennis Quaid, Olivia Wilde, Ben Barnes, John Hannah, J.K. Simmons and Nora Arnezeder.

The Words debuted at Sundance earlier this year where reviews weren’t necessarily kind. At Variety, Rob Nelson called it a “literary film that stands to work best for those who don’t read” as it makes a “bid for the widest possible appeal.” Not necessarily a good thing in today’s increasingly watered down marketplace for exactly that kind of picture.

Over at The Hollywood Reporter, Todd McCarthy wasn’t much kinder beginning his review with a teaser that reads: “A strikingly attractive cast and an inviting storyline are undermined by points of narrative disorder in this smoothly crafted literary melodrama.”

The film is directed by Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal and will arrive in theaters on September 21. Check out the trailer below and see how it strikes you.
