Has Heigl’s Star Crashed? Here’s the Trailer and Poster for ‘One for the Money’

Lionsgate has chosen the end of the day Friday to debut the trailer and poster for Katherine Heigl‘s latest film, One for the Money. In it she plays Stephanie Plum, newly-divorced 30-year-old who’s been recently laid-off and is living with her hamster in Trenton, N.J.

Broke and desperate, Stephanie lands a job working for her slimy cousin and his bail bond business. In need of fast cash she latches on to his biggest case – a local cop wanted for murder who just happens to be the guy that broke her heart in high school. Stephanie gets resourceful and tough, as she is swept up in a suspenseful world of murder, deceit, with a bit of romance.

The film marks a further step backward for the actress that at one time appeared to be unstoppable, but then a rash of negative publicity and diva behavior caused her stock to decline. Starring with her here are Daniel Sunjata, Sherri Shepherd and Jason O’Mara and the film is directed by The Last Song helmer Julie Anne Robinson.

Heigl will be seen in New Year’s Eve on December 9 before this one arrives on January 27, 2012, but I think it’s fair to say Heigl’s star may be on permanent decline. After all, this film was supposed to hit theaters on July 8th… of this year! Yeah, against Zookeeper… it ran away from Zookeeper. Then it was set up as alternate programming against X-Men: First Class on June 3rd… no dice. Yikes.
