Break delivers the red band trailer for the upcoming romantic dramedy Love and Other Drugs directed by Edward Zwick (The Last Samurai) and starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway. The film is set for a November 24 release, and I actually saw it a couple of weeks ago and wasn’t impressed to say the least. It plays like a blatant Jerry Maguire rip-off, replacing a sports agent with a pharmaceutical sales rep and uses the fact Hathaway’s character has Parkinson’s to add dramatic tension, something Maguire never needed.
Personally I don’t see any chance for Oscar, which was originally speculated, but that’s just my opinion.
