Will this be an Oscar contender or a film that simply starred Christina Aguilera and Cher? The first trailer for Burlesque has arrived allowing us to finally weigh in and in my very early Oscar predictions I just posted I included Stanley Tucci and Cher as contenders in the supporting categories sight unseen. Have a look at the trailer and tell me if I’m crazy or if you see real potential here.
The film centers on Ali Rose (Aguilera), a small-town girl who discovers a burlesque club in LA. Cher plays Tess, owner of The Burlesque Lounge where Tucci plays a gay stage manager who once had a fling with Tess. The film also stars Kristen Bell, Alan Cumming and Eric Dane.
