Paramount Pictures has shared The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants teaser trailer for its upcoming adventure comedy. This serves as the latest installment to the popular animated film franchise, based on the iconic Nickelodeon show. Prior to this, Netflix previously released the spin-off Plankton: The Movie last March, which centered around the titular villain and his robot wife Karen.
The movie is currently scheduled to make its debut in theaters on December 19, pitting it directly against James Cameron’s long-awaited Avatar: Fire and Ash movie. It will also be debuting in the same month as other high-profile movies such as Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, Anaconda, and Marty Supreme.
