A24 has dropped the first official Medusa Deluxe trailer for its upcoming murder mystery, starring Clare Perkins (EastEnders) and Anita-Joy Uwajeh (Vampire Academy).
The video brings viewers to a cutthroat hairdressing competition which suddenly turns into a crime scene after one of the contestants was mysteriously murdered. The film is scheduled to arrive in select theaters and on VOD on August 11.

What is Medusa Deluxe about?
“Talented, ambitious, and backstabbing hairstylists gather for a competition in England, only to find one of their own murdered before judging can begin,” reads the synopsis. “Winding through neon-lit halls and backstage dressing rooms, competitors unspool long-simmering resentments and secrets as they search for the killer among them, in this devilishly funny whodunit.”
Medusa Deluxe is written and directed by Thomas Hardiman in his feature directorial debut. The film stars Anita-Joy Uwajeh, Clare Perkins, Darrell D’Silva, Debris Stevenson, Harriet Webb, Heider Ali, Kae Alexander, Kayla Meikle, Lilit Lesser, Luke Pasqualino, and Nicholas Karimi.
The film is executive produced by Lizzie Francke, Jim Mooney, Walli Ullah, and Eva Yates, with Michael Elliott, Nell Green, Lee Groombridge, and Louise Palmkvist Hansen producing.
