The Munsters Teaser Previews Rob Zombie’s Adaptation of Classic Sitcom

Universal Pictures has dropped the first teaser for The Munsters, the upcoming film adaptation of the classic 1960s sitcom which hails from director Rob Zombie. The horror-comedy is expected to make its debut later this year in the fall, and will be simultaneously released in theaters and on Peacock.

The 52-second teaser, which you can check out below, introduces us to the Munster family, including Herman Munster, Lily Munster, and Grandpa Munster.

The upcoming remake is written and directed by Rob Zombie, who has been developing the project for over two decades. It stars Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman Munster, Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily Munster, Dan Roebuck as Grandpa Munster, Jorge Garcia, Dee Wallace, Sylvester McCoy, Richard Brake, Cassandra Peterson, and more.

Created by Allan Burns and Chris Hayward, The Munsters was a classic comedy series described as a satire of American suburban life. It ran on-air for 70 episodes from 1965 to 1966. Despite its short run, it received positive reviews and acclaim, including a Golden Globe nomination for Best Television Series.

While Zombie is best known for his music career, the “Dragula” singer has found a successful career as a director as well. His filmography includes House of 1000 Corpses, 31, and most recently, 3 from Hell.
