Channing Tatum’s Buddy Comedy Film Dog Unveils First Clip

MGM has dropped the first clip from the Channing Tatum and Reid Carolin’s forthcoming buddy comedy film Dog, which will hit the theaters on February 18. Its current theatrical release will pit the film directly against a high-profile competition in the form of Sony Pictures’ Tom Holland-led action adventure film Uncharted.

The video, which you can check out below, features Tatum’s character as he tries to calm down his furry road trip buddy, who’s getting anxious in his cage.

The film is co-directed by Reid Carolin and Channing Tatum from a screenplay written by Carolin, based on his story with Brett Rodriguez. It stars Channing Tatum, Jane Adams, Kevin Nash, Q’orianka Kilcher, Ethan Suplee, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Nicole LaLiberté, Luke Forbes, and Ronnie Gene Blevins.

Dog is a buddy comedy that follows the misadventures of two former Army Rangers paired against their will on the road trip of a lifetime,” reads the synopsis. “Army Ranger Briggs and Lulu (a Belgian Malinois dog) buckle into a 1984 Ford Bronco and race down the Pacific Coast in hopes of making it to a fellow soldier’s funeral on time. Along the way, they’ll drive each other completely crazy, break a small handful of laws, narrowly evade death, and learn to let down their guards in order to have a fighting chance of finding happiness.”

Dog is produced by Rodriguez, Gregory Jacobs, and Peter Kiernan. Betsy Danbury and Ken Meyer are executive producing. It is a production by MGM Pictures, and Free Association/Gregory Jacobs Production in association with FilmNation Entertainment.
