Death on the Nile Character Posters and Special Look Revealed

With only a month left, 20th Century Studios has debuted the first set of character posters for Kenneth Branagh’s long-delayed mystery thriller Death on the Nile, which serves as a follow-up to 2017’s global hit Murder on the Orient Express. It is set to be released in theaters on February 11, 2022, pitting it against Universal Pictures’ newest romantic comedy Marry Me starring Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson.

The Death on the Nile character posters, which you can check out below along with a special look teaser, features some of the main cast including Branagh, and Gal Gadot. It also teases each character’s role in the film, with Sex Education‘s Emma Mackey being labeled as the Lover.

Death on the Nile is based on Agatha Christie’s 1937 novel, which tells the daring mystery thriller about the emotional chaos and deadly consequences triggered by obsessive love. The sequel to , will once again feature the return of Oscar nominee Kenneth Branagh as its director and leading star.

“Belgian sleuth Hercule Poirot’s Egyptian vacation aboard a glamorous river steamer turns into a terrifying search for a murderer when a picture-perfect couple’s idyllic honeymoon is tragically cut short,” reads the synopsis. “Set against an epic landscape of sweeping desert vistas and the majestic Giza pyramids, this tale of unbridled passion and incapacitating jealousy features a cosmopolitan group of impeccably dressed travelers, and enough wicked twists and turns to leave audiences guessing until the final, shocking denouement.”

Joining Branagh’s Hercule Poirot are Tom Bateman, four-time Oscar nominee Annette Bening, Russell Brand, Ali Fazal, Dawn French, Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer, Rose Leslie, Emma Mackey, Sophie Okonedo, Jennifer Saunders, and Letitia Wright.

Adapted for the screen by Michael Green, the film will transport audiences to the 1930s, recreating many of the locations that served as inspiration for Christie’s glamorous, high society thriller.

Death on the Nile is produced by Ridley Scott, Mark Gordon, Simon Kinberg, Kenneth Branagh, Judy Hofflund, and Kevin J. Walsh, with Matthew Jenkins, James Prichard, and Matthew Prichard serving as executive producers.
