With only a week left to go before its long-awaited debut, Marvel Studios has released a brand new featurette for their Scarlett Johansson-led MCU film, which marks the first feature entry in the studio’s Phase 4. The long-delayed film is currently scheduled to debut in theaters and on Disney+ with Premier Access on Friday, July 9.
The video highlights its main antagonist, Taskmaster, who has the ability to mimic another one’s fighting abilities. It also features interviews by director Cate Shortland and the cast as they talk about the MCU’s newest villain being the ultimate weapon. The actor portraying the Taskmaster is still a mystery, with some fans even speculating that the character might be played by O.T. Fagbenle, who has been introduced as Rick Mason in the upcoming film.
In Marvel Studios’ action-packed spy thriller Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.

The film will be led by Scarlett Johansson is David Harbour as Alexei/Red Guardian, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, and Rachel Weisz as Melina Vostokoff. Joining them are William Hurt as Thaddeus Ross, Ray Winstone as Dreykov, and O-T Fagbenle as Rick Mason.
Set between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War, the upcoming film will serve as the first feature in Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 4.
Black Widow is directed by Cate Shortland (Lore) from a screenplay written by WandaVision head writer Jac Schaeffer, who is continuing her partnership with the studio after recently signing an overall deal with Marvel Studios and 20th Television.
