Riders of Justice Trailer previews Mads Mikkelsen’s revenge dramedy pic

The official Riders of Justice trailer for the upcoming U.S. debut of Anders Thomas Jensen’s Danish dramedy action-thriller film has been released, starring acclaimed actor Mads Mikkelsen as his character tries to avenge his wife’s death. The video provides a preview of some of the film’s action scenes while also highlighting the unlikely teamed-up between Mikkelsen’s Markus and a group of strangers who will help him get revenge for his wife. The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on May 14, followed by a VOD release on May 21. Check out the video in player!

Riders of Justice follows recently-deployed Markus, who is forced to return home to care for his teenage daughter after his wife is killed in a tragic train accident. But when a survivor of the wrecked train surfaces claiming foul play, Markus begins to suspect his wife was murdered and embarks on a mission to find those responsible.

The film will be led by Mads Mikkelsen (The Hunt, Hannibal), whose most recent Danish feature, Another Round, is currently nominated for two major Oscar awards, including Best Director for Thomas Vinterberg and Best International Feature Film. Nikolaj Lie Kaas (Angels & Demons), Lars Brygmann (The Professor and the Madman) and Nicolas Bro (War Horse).

Riders of Justice is written and directed by Anders Thomas Jensen, who is best known for his 1998 short film Election Night, which won an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short. This project also marks the latest collaboration between Jensen and Mikkelsen after working together on several films such as Flickering Lights, Wilbur Wants to Kill Himself, The Green Butchers, Adam’s Apples, After the Wedding, and The Salvation.
