The gals who brought audiences Bridesmaids are inviting audiences to take a trip and break out of their shell with Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar, centered on the titular duo as they embark on the adventure of a lifetime as they leave their small Midwestern town to go on vacation to the titular Florida locale. However, they soon find themselves tangled up in a villain’s evil plot to kill everyone in town.

The ensemble roster for the comedy is led by Wiig and Mumolo (Bad Moms) and also features Jamie Dornan (Fifty Shades of Grey), Damon Wayans Jr. (New Girl), Fortune Feimster (Office Christmas Party), Wendi McLendon-Covey (The Goldbergs), Rose Abdoo (Bless This Mess), Vanessa Bayer (Saturday Night Live), Phyllis Smith (The Office) and Kwame Patterson (The Wire).

Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar was helmed by Josh Greenbaum (New Girl, Becoming Bond) from a screenplay co-written by Wiig and Mumolo. Jessica Elbaum’s female-focused production company Gloria Sanchez Productions produced the project together with Wiig and Mumolo alongside Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, and Margot Hand.

This film marked the second collaboration between Wiig and Mumolo, whom previously worked together on the award-winning comedy film Bridesmaids which starred Maya Rudolph, Wiig, Melissa McCarthy and Rose Byrne.
