‘Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life’ Movie Review (2003)

Last time she was searching for The Triangle of Light, an ancient space and time altering artifact. This time she is in search of Pandora’s Box. While the object of the chase has changed the sequel is just as bad as the original.

No matter what stands in her way Croft seems to be able to get out of any kind of trouble even if it is a Great White Shark in the sea just off the coast of Greece and she has to punch the shark in the face to obtain a ride to fresh ocean air.

Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life offers up uneventful obstacles, sets that look plastic, and stunts that were perfected 100 years ago.

Academy Award winner Angelina Jolie reprises her role as Lara Croft, one of the world’s most celebrated action heroines from the world of video games and finds herself trapped in a lifeless and boring story that makes you only wish you had to go to the bathroom.

Spanning from Hong Kong, Kenya, Tanzania, Greece and the Great Wall of China Cradle of Life loses all its flare when sets change to plastic columns and caverns of ancient lore.

Angelina Jolie can pull off this role if they were only able to find a scriptwriter that could give some life to these dull and predicable stories.
