Jordan Peele’s Us Adds Five Stars To Round Out Cast

Variety is reporting that Us, Jordan Peele’s follow-up to last year’s smash social thriller Get Out, has added five new stars to round out the film’s already star-studded cast.

The new cast members include Shahadi Wright Joseph (Hairspray Live!), Evan Alex (Mani), Madison Curry, Cali Sheldon and Noelle Sheldon (Friends), all of whom are joining a strong ensemble made up of Lupita Nyong’o (Black Panther), Winston Duke (Black Panther), Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale) and Tim Heidecker (Ant-Man and the Wasp).

Get Out was a massive success for Universal and Peele in his directorial debut, earning over $255 million globally off a $4.5 million budget. The film also earned widespread praise from critics and audiences for its deft blend of comedy and horror, as well as its trenchant themes and subtle messages hidden throughout the film. It was nominated for four Academy Awards, with Peele winning for Best Original Screenplay, making him the first African-American writer to win the award.

Plot details are currently being kept under wraps for Us, but it’s been discussed that it will be very much in the vein of Get Out‘s social thriller genre. Production on the film is currently underway and will be released by Universal Pictures on March 15, 2019.
