Warner Bros. moves New Line's The Nun from July to September

Warner Bros. Pushes Release Date for Conjuring Spinoff The Nun

Warner Bros. moves New Line’s The Nun from July to September

Warner Bros. is moving New Line’s The Nun from July 13, 2018 to September 7, 2018. The film stars Demian Bichir, Taissa Farmiga, Jonas Bloquet, Charlotte Hope, Ingrid Bisu and Bonnie Aarons. The old release date had the film release two days before Incredibles 2TagSuper FlyOn Chesil Beach and an Untitled Universal Release. The new release date has the film by itself.

When a young nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania takes her own life, a priest (Demian Bichir) with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows (Taissa Farmiga) are sent by the Vatican to investigate. Together they uncover the order’s unholy secret. Risking not only their lives but their faith and their very souls, they confront a malevolent force in the form of the same demonic nun that first terrorized audiences in The Conjuring 2, as the abbey becomes a horrific battleground between the living and the damned.

The Nun is the second spinoff to come from The Conjuring series, following in the footsteps of Annabelle, which also got a prequel film Annabelle: Creation that hit theaters last summer. What makes this spinoff perhaps so remarkable is that The Nun character was a late addition to last year’s The Conjuring 2, but was quickly a favorite by horror fans and was announced to have her own feature film in development just one week after The Conjuring 2 opened.

Corin Hardy, who previously directed the animated short Butterfly, music videos, and horror film The Hallow, will direct the film from a script by Gary Dauberman and James Wan.
