Ridley Scott Plans The Counselor

Ridley Scott appears to have found his next project after Prometheus. Deadline reports that he’s negotiating to tackle Cormac McCarthy’s original screenplay, The Counselor.

McCarthy, known for the novels-turned-films All the Pretty Horses, No Country for Old Men and The Road, wrote The Counselor specifically for the screen. It tells of a present-day Southwest lawyer who gets in over his head in the drug trade.

Scott appears likely to make this his very next film, though he has also been linked, in the recent past, to Forever War, Monopoly, Gucci, a Gertrude Bell biopic and a spinoff of his own 1982 sci-fi classic, Blade Runner.
