Deadpool 2 Set Photos and Details Debut!

Deadpool 2 set photos and details debut

Production is in full swing on the upcoming Deadpool 2 and star Ryan Reynolds has taken to Instagram to mark the occasion (pictured above).

“The sun sets on day 1,” the actor/producer wrote. “Feels good to be back. This dog can hunt.”

In further Deadpool 2 news, JustJared has a collection of set photos depicting a scene of Deadpool crashing a children’s birthday party (and missing some key pieces of his suit). The Vancouver Sun also makes note of a few different locations that the sequel will call home (and two different codenames it’s using, including “Caribbean Blue” and “DAISY”), so expect even more photos from the set to arrive.

Finally, Screen Rant spoke with T.J. Miller who revealed that his character Weasel will be getting scenes with another fan favorite, Karan Soni’s Dopinder.

“We’re shooting in August and September and it’s going to be even more Weaselicious. … The cab driver, Karan Soni, and Weasel have a pretty funny storyline, which I’m not positive is going to be in [the movie], but they were talking about it and it was really making me laugh. And I like him, I did Office Christmas Party with him, and he’s very funny, very quick and so — because we didn’t cross paths in the original film. … So y’know [fans can expect] stuff like that. I think they’re really building out the world and deciding kind of what’s next.”

John Wick‘s David Leitch is directing Deadpool 2 from a screenplay by the returning “real heroes here,” screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Reynolds is again serving as a producer on Deadpool 2 alongside X-Men franchise caretakers Simon Kinberg and Lauren Shuler Donner.

Ryan Reynolds leads a cast of newcomers that includes Zazie Beetz (Atlanta) as Domino, a luck-manipulating mutant, and Josh Brolin as Cable, the time-traveling son of the X-Men’s Cyclops. Jack Kesy (The Strain, Baywatch), meanwhile, is attached to play the film’s central villain which, while unconfirmed, is rumored to be Irish mutant Black Tom Cassidy. Japanese actress Shioli Kutsuna has also joined the film in a mystery role.

Other stars returning from the first Deadpool include Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Stefan Kapicic as the voice of Colossus.

Deadpool 2 is set to debut in theaters on June 1, 2018.
