Variety reports that Brian Beletic will direct Disney’s mountain climbing action-adventure (also known as The Hill), which is not based on the company’s Matterhorn theme park ride as was previously believes.
The music video and commercials helmer will be joined by Brain Farm Cinema, creators of the 3D snowboarding feature Art of Flight, who will serve as production consultants.
The film is expected to be “an origin story about a young group of five explorers and adventure seekers.. In the face of life-threatening mountain conditions, they unravel the truth about one another, as well as why they were brought there, and ultimately uncover a mountain secret that may cost them their lives while facing off against a covert organization with a long, yet secret history of global exploration.”
The trade says the film, written by Jason Dean Hall, does not yet have an official title.
