First announced last April with Joel Schumacher at the helm, The Hive is now, according to Variety, moving forward with The Machinist director Brad Anderson instead.
The project, from Exit Wounds and Thir13en Ghosts screenwriter Rich D’Ovidio, is said to focus on a female emergency line operator who, in trying to help a young girl, comes up against a killer from her own past.
Last fall, ComingSoon.net confirmed with Schumacher that he had his sights set on Halle Berry for the lead. She is no longer attached, however, due to scheduling conflicts.
New casting is expected to be announced soon with a production start targeting this spring.
