Exclusive: Alexander Brothers Take Their Own Route

Real life brothers turned actor-filmmakers JT and Damon Alexander have launched Route 17 Entertainment.

The company, independently financed by venture capitalist Boone Hyde, is in pre-production on two features with first time directors.

First up the brothers will star in The Go Getters, from Brooklyn’s Finest scribe Michael C. Martin. Martin will also direct the dramatic thriller, which follows the lives Jake and Easton Brickhouse, lifelong criminals who maneuver through LA’s shady underbelly in search of wealth, love, and redemption. The Go Getters marks Martin’s feature film directorial debut.

The Alexander brothers will then follow up with A River Between from “Prison Break” actor Lane Garrison. Garrison, who had a recurring role on the NBC series “The Event” and appeared in Antoine Fuqua’s Shooter, will also direct and star in this drama about a Texas border patrol officer who gets caught up with a brutal drug cartel when he falls in love with a Mexican girl who is illegally on the run in the US. A River Between also marks Garrison’s debut as a motion picture director. He will be seen in the independent feature The Devil’s in the Details.

“We feel fortunate and blessed to be working with Mike and Lane and are so grateful that they would entrust their projects to us. It’s truly thrilling to begin our filmmaking careers with such amazing material and artists,” say the Alexander brothers.

Both films are in various stages of pre-production. The Go Getters will shoot on locations throughout Los Angeles. Martin is represented by ICM, Garrison is at Domain and Untitled Entertainment.
