Following the minimalist teaser poster, FilmDistrict has released a new one-sheet for The Rum Diary that plays up the film’s star, Johnny Depp. Check it out below, courtesy of IMP Awards.
Reprising his role as a Hunter S. Thompson alter-ego, Depp plays New York journalist Paul Kemp, who travels down to San Juan, Puerto Rico to work at the local paper.
Previously, Depp played Thompson in Terry Gilliam’s Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and was the narrator for Alex Gibney’s doc Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson.
Also starring Amber Heard, Aaron Eckhart, Giovanni Ribisi and Richard Jenkins and directed by Bruce Robinson, The Rum Diary is scheduled to open on October 28.
