Marg Helgenberger Cast in Behind Enemy Lines Pilot for Fox

Marg Helgenberger, star of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, has been cast as a series regular for the Fox pilot Behind Enemy Lines, according to Deadline. The pilot is loosely based on the 2001 film starring Owen Wilson and Gene Hackman, and directed by John Moore. The pilot was written by Nikki Toscano (24: LegacyShades of Blue) and will be directed by McG (Supernatural).

Behind Enemy Lines will tell the story of a group of U.S. soldiers who find themselves trapped on the wrong side of a conflict. It’s described as, “a multiple-perspective narrative that closely follows our soldiers on the ground and the officers and service men and women on a nearby aircraft carrier, along with intelligence officers in D.C. as they attempt to bring our heroes home safely and under the radar.”

The film Behind Enemy Lines was set during the Bosnian war, and was loosely based on the 1995 Mrkonjić Grad incident, where a soldier went down behind enemy lines and his commanding officer tried to get approval for a rescue mission. Helgenberger will reportedly play the character of Navy Admiral Bobbie Decker. Decker is described as “the most powerful women in the military, fierce but fair, a no BS straight shooter, who will do anything to keep her men and women safe.”

Helgenberger played Catherine Willows in the long-running CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and has been seen recently in Under the Dome and Intelligence. She’s also voice the role of Hera in the animated film Wonder Woman and the character of Catherine Willows in two CSI video games. Are you interested in the Behind Enemy Lines pilot?
