Reese Witherspoon has signed on to headline the upcoming comedy Wish List for Walt Disney Pictures, Deadline reports.
Witherspoon will play the leading role of a woman who, as a child, made ten wishes on a single coin at a wishing well, unaware that her coin never quite reached the well’s magical bottom. When the coin is finally jostled loose 25 years later, the wishes all come true in the middle of her unsuspecting adult life.
The article says that the script was initially being prepared for a male lead, but will now be rewritten specifically for Witherspoon.
Most recently appearing in Water for Elephants, Witherspoon will next appear in the McG romantic action comedy This Means War.
