Robert Rodriguez closed out an announcement-riddled Comic-Con panel with one more surprise; he’s teamed with the estate of fantasy artist Frank Frazetta for a live-action take on Fire and Ice, inspired by the artist’s legendary work and the previous 1983 animated version.
Explaining that he wants to apply to Frazetta the same dedication that gave Frank Miller with Sin City, Rodriguez showed off a montage of stills that featured many fantastic scenes taken directly from some of Frazetta’s most famous original works.
In addition to the project, Rodriguez will be working closely with the Frazetta estate for a number of future projects in a variety of media, including a soon-to-open museum to be housed in Austin, Texas.
