Long in development, 20th Century Fox’s Neighborhood Watch is finally moving forward with Vince Vaughn now likely to join Ben Stiller. The Hollywood Reporter has the news, saying that the pair will headline the sci-fi comedy.
Now set to be directed by Akiva Schaffer (Hot Rod), the film tells of a neighborhood watch crew that is secretly an excuse for local men to hang out together. Things take a turn for the serious, though, when the team accidentally uncovers a plot to destroy the world.
Originally set for Will Ferrell to star, David Dobkin, Shawn Levy and Peter Segal were all named to helm the project since it was first rumored in 2008. Most recently, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg were brought aboard to rewrite the script.
