Bradley Cooper is set to headline Gavin O’Connor’s WWII drama Atlantic Wall
Four-time Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper is set to play the lead in Atlantic Wall, a World War II drama set up at Imperative Entertainment. Deadline has the news, reporting that Gavin O’Connor (Warrior, The Accountant) will direct from a 2015 “Black List” screenplay by Zach Dean. While no deal has yet been signed, the outlet hints that Atlantic Wall may very well end up finding distribution through Warner Bros. Pictures.
Atlantic Wall received 8 Black List votes and offered the following official logline:
A lone American paratrooper, stranded behind enemy lines hours before D-Day, is tasked with delivering intelligence critical to the outcome of the war and compelled to fulfill a promise to protect the young son of a murdered ally.
Atlantic Wall will shoot in Normandy in 2018, allowing Cooper time for his directorial debut, WB’s new big screen version of A Star is Born. Cooper is also acting in that one opposite Lady Gaga. Look for the musical to hit theaters September 28, 2018.
Connor, meanwhile, is coming off the box office success of The Accountant. Starring Ben Affleck, the WB release has pulled in more than $143 million at the worldwide box office.
Producers on Atlantic Wall include Dan Friedkin and Bradley Thomas of Imperative and Adam Kolbrenner of Madhouse Entertainment.
