Borys Kit at the Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision Blog has the names of three more actors playing dwarves in Universal Pictures’ Snow White and the Huntsman, joining the previously-announced Ian McShane, with Eddie Izzard, Bob Hoskins and Toby Jones playing Tiberius, Constantine and Claudius, respectively.
The revisionist take on the classic fairy tale is being directed by Rupert Saunders, and it already has Kristen Stewart playing Snow White, Charlize Theron playing her evil stepmother, and Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman.
While McShane will play the dwarf leader Caesar, Jones’ Claudius is said to be timid, Izzard’s character is the “biggest and burliest” dwarf, while Hopkins’ Constantine is blind. Kit also is reporting that Eddie Marsan (Sherlock Holmes) and Stephen Graham (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) are in negotiations to play two other dwarves. Considering that all those actors are different heights, one would have to assume they will be using FX techniques similar to “The Lord of the Rings” to make them all “dwarf height.”
