DreamWorks has purchased J. Michael Straczynski’s original script Voices From the Dead, Deadline is reporting.
The pitch involves a fictional team-up between real-life friends, magician Harry Houdini and “Sherlock Holmes” author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Together, the pair solve a string of murders in 1920’s New York with the help of a psychic.
Straczynski, in addition to a wide variety of comic book and television work (he created “Babylon 5” and “Jeremiah”), provided the screenplays to Changeling and Ninja Assassin. His recent graphic novel “Superman: Earth One” was a best-seller for DC Comics.
