Adaptation of Top Cow’s Vice in the Works

Producer Andrew Lazar, Top Cow Productions, Inc. and Platinum Studios, Inc. have partnered to bring Top Cow’s comic book series “Vice” to the big screen.

“Vice” tells the story of a group of hard-core teenage felons who get a shot at clearing their records by joining the FBI’s Critical Response Unit (CRU). But with bad attitudes and formidable powers, the CRU might be just as dangerous as the bad guys they’re after. The comic book series, first published in 2005, was created by Matt Hawkins, President of Top Cow Productions, Inc.

Lazar will produce with Platinum Studios’ Chairman and CEO Scott Mitchell Rosenberg. Former Universal Pictures senior executive Randy Greenberg of The Greenberg Group, who negotiated the deal, would be an executive producer as would Hawkins and Top Cow’s Marc Silversti.

“‘Vice’ is a great foundation with which to build a great film,” said Lazar. “The landscape is rich with characters, events and opportunities to show off young talent and fantastic visual effects.”

“Andrew Lazar understands how to blend live action and CGI into great story telling,” said Platinum’s Rosenberg. “The world of ‘Vice’ is in great hands!”

“‘Vice’ has always been a passion project of mine and when Platinum and ICM connected us with Andrew Lazar — the rare alignment of the right person for the right project happened!” said Hawkins.
