Naomi Watts has joined the cast of Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar in the part of Helen Gandy, Variety is reporting.
Gandy served as personal secretary to J. Edgar Hoover, working closely alongside him for over half a century. Following his death in 1972, Gandy was responsible for destroying Hoover’s files that allegedly contained information on some of the most powerful men in the country.
Leonardo DiCaprio is set to star as Hoover, alongside Armie Hammer, Ed Westwick, Judi Dench and Josh Lucas.
