Vera Farmiga and Mia Wasikowska have joined the cast of A View From the Bridge, reports, Variety.
Both actresses will appear alongside Anthony LaPaglia, Sam Neill and Sebastien Stan in the adaptation of the 1955 Arthur Miller play.
Set in the 1950s, the story features an Italian dockworker, Eddie Carbone (LaPaglia, reprising the role from a 1998 Broadway staging) and his wife, Beatrice (Farmiga) who together are raising their orphaned niece, Catherine (Wasikowska) in Brooklyn.
Previously adapted for the big screen by Sidney Lumet in 1961 with the title Vu du Pont, this version will be directed by Robert Connolly. In development for years, the film previously had attached Barry Levinson as director with the roles of Catherine and Beatrice linked to Scarlett Johannsson and Frances McDormand.
