Malin Akerman (Couples Retreat, Watchmen) is replacing Lindsay Lohan in Inferno, the story of 1970s porn star Linda Lovelace. Matthew Wilder wrote the script and will direct.
Inferno is based on the novel “Ordeal: An Autobiography by Linda Lovelace with Mike McGrady,” which is described as follows:
Wilder told E! Online earlier today that the production was moving on without Lohan (pictured right as Lovelace). “We are withdrawing our offer from Lindsay Lohan,” he said, “We have stuck by Lindsay very patiently for a long time with a lot of love and support. Ultimately, the impossibility of insuring her–and some other issues–have made it impossible for us to go forward.”
Lohan is currently residing at the alcohol treatment facility Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, California. She must remain in rehab until January 3.
Akerman has HappyThankYouMorePlease, Wanderlust and The Bang Bang Club coming out in 2011.
