Warner Bros. Making Live-Action Pinocchio

Warner Bros. Pictures is developing a live-action Pinocchio feature with producer Dan Jinks. Bryan Fuller will write the script.

Jinks told Variety that he was inspired by Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland to begin work on a new version of Pinocchio. “I think we’ve found a fresh approach that’s going to be very entertaining,” he said.

The story originated in Italian author Carlo Collodi’s novel “The Adventures of Pinocchio.” The first half was originally a serial between 1881 and 1883, and then later completed as a book for children in February 1883.

The tale has been adapted in many ways, but Disney’s 1940 animated movie is probably the most known version.
